Sales Tax Holidays

Sales Tax Holidays lists the dates for every sales tax holiday in the U.S., by state. It lists what's included in the holiday, and a link to the states' Web sites for details. Ours in NC is August 1-3.

I was surprised when Massachusetts started this a while back, since our state government is drunk on taxpayers money. In fact, the citizens overwhelmingly rolled back a "temporary" (Dukakis era) income tax hike a few years ago using a binding initiative petition and the legislature just ignored it. But we keep votin' 'em back in.

This year there is an item on the ballot to completely repeal the state income tax. That should be interesting!
