Wow, that was fascinating reading! And, it was pretty accurate.

I made a list of all the things they got right, or substantially right.

You will be whisked around in monorail vehicles at 200 miles an hour. -- bullet trains

Doors will open automatically -- well, a few of 'em do.

Messages will be recorded when you're away from home -- did they have answering machines in 1961?

Up-to-the minute world news

Transcribe your latest mail

Wall-to-wall global TV

"Home computer help" -- Well, it won't exactly "help mother tend the children or cook the meals" but it will issue reminders of appointments

Cooking with "microwave controls"

Instant bread -- bread machines make it easy, not exactly instant

Sugar made from sawdust -- I've had food that tastes like sawdust ;-)

Foodless foods -- I've had foodless food!

Juice powders

Energy will come in tablet form

Mail and newspapers will be reproduced instantly anywhere in the world by facsimile.

There will be machines doing the work of clerks, shorthand writers and translators. Machines will "talk" to each other.

Our children will learn from TV, recorders and teaching machines.

Yes, I was amazed at how close the projections were. Thanks for making this list.

I'm still waiting for the flying cars, but the personal helicopter is available now.
