People don’t have time for long emails
...and they don’t have time to try to find out exactly what you want. You have to tell them, in as short an email as possible.
Communicate clearly and concisely with the following rules:
1. Use the minimum amount of sentences.
2. State what you want right away.
3. Write about only one thing.
4. Leave out the humor and emotions.
5. Use “If … then” statements.
6. Review for ambiguity, clarity.
7. Revise for conciseness.
These rules are for business-related emails, but if you have business to conduct, like arranging a party, with friends and family, following these rules will get better results. Stolen from Web Worker Daily.
